Please find below the results of today’s OPC on the Silver course. We had 92 players broken out into Flight 1 (gross) and 6 Net flights. The total purse was $552.
Pace of Play:
While groups 1-7 completed their rounds in 4:15 or less, we encountered a significant issue with group 8. Despite multiple requests from the course marshal to expedite their pace, it was to no avail. The course marshal brought the issue to my attention. At that point, group 8 had two complete open holes and was 30 minutes behind the pace. I instructed the marshal to inform group 8 that they must retrieve their balls, move forward two holes, and take X’s for the incomplete holes. Regrettably, their slow play resulted in a substantial backlog behind them. Consequently, all four players in this group will not be included in this round. Furthermore, none of the members in this group will be permitted to participate in the next OPC before 1000. We have addressed slow play too many times for this to occur, and slow play will not be tolerated.
The next event is the ABCD Shamble on Thursday, 13 August on the Blue course. Signups are still open.
