EMGA – Stableford Scoring for OPCs (Sep/Oct)

Members,

Effective September and October, the OPCs will utilize Stableford scoring instead of standard stroke scoring. Please refer to the following instructions for clarification:

1. The maximum strokes allowed on any given hole is a net double bogey. A net double bogey is defined as a double bogey plus any handicap strokes incurred on the hole. For instance, on a par four, a double bogey would be a 6, and any handicap strokes (indicated by a dot or two dots in Golf Genius) would be added to this score.

2. The member responsible for electronic scoring on Golf Genius will inform all members of their net double bogey score prior to teeing off on each hole.

3. If you have not holed out by a Net bogey, retrieve your ball, proceed to the next hole, and mark the score for that hole as an “X.” Please do not continue to play if someone in your group has said “pick up.”

4. Stableford scoring is as follows:
    * Net double bogey: 0 points
    * Net bogey: 1 point
    * Net par: 2 points
    * Net birdie: 4 points
    * Net eagle: 8 points
    * Net double eagle: 10 points

5. The highest score for posting in GHIN can only be a net double bogey.  Therefore, all scores will continue to be posted in GHIN for handicap purposes.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Larry Walker, President, EMGA
John Henninger, OPC Chair
