I've attached an update to the Eisenhower Golf Course local rules for 2026.  The most notable change was for animal holes/mounding.  In previous local rules your only received relief from lie of ball or intended swing.  You now get relief from lie of ball, intended swing, and stance.

Hope you all had a great warm weekend! Wanted to make sure you didn't miss out on the EGC Season Kickoff & The Masters Tournament! April 11th & April 12th, 9am Shotgun on Both Days. Eligibility

Must be Active Duty or Retired Military, Veterans Health Identification Card Holder (Must be Service Connected), or Member of EGC. No Civilians will be permitted to play in this event.

Cost

$80 Per Player – Includes Cart Fee, Range Balls, HIO, Prizes, Appetizers and Beverages for the weekend.

Does Not Include Green Fees

Format

Best 2 Balls out of 3 (80% of Participants Handicap) Participants will play their own ball throughout the round. The best 2 out of 3 balls with the PGA Professional score from The Masters will be scored

Players will check in with the Professional Staff in the Pro Shop to select their Professional playing on their team prior to tee off on Saturday.

PROS NEED TO BE SELECTED PRIOR TO TEE OFF OR YOU WILL HAVE A RANDOM PRO PICKED FOR YOUR TEAMS.

In the event your player in The Masters is forced to WD or gets DQ'd, teams will forfeit the scores of that player and have a random draw for a player who is able to complete both Saturday and Sunday rounds at Augusta

Handicap

Players must have an established GHIN Handicap Index.

Greetings! Signups for the Thursday, 2 April 2026 Open Play Competition (OPC), Blue Course, will open on Tuesday. If you compete in the OPC, then $6 will be deducted from your EMGA account.

OPC:  Thursday, 2 April on the Blue Course (first tee time at 0830).

Signups start on Tuesday, 24 March at exactly 1900 hours (7PM).

Reminder, we are using the Golf Genius tee time system, Open Tee Time™ Registration, for making tee times for our OP and not the Eisenhower Club Prophet System (CPS).

Instructions:

1.  Tee Time reservations will open on Tuesday night at 7PM (1900).

2.  Sign in to the EMGA Portal page (egc-2026emga.golfgenius.com) with your username and password.  The tee sheet will open up exactly at 7:00 PM.  If you enter the site sooner, you may need to refresh your browser before seeing the tee sheet.

3.  On the portal page, go to the Tee Sheet section, and then select “Open Tee Time Registration.”

4.  Select the time you want to play.

5.  You'll be able to sign up as a single, twosome, threesome or foursome.

6.  If signing up for more than just yourself, you'll need to know the names of the other players in advance of making the tee time.  Once a name is added, no other player can select that same person (his name will be grayed out).  When finished signing up, please hit “Done” to save your tee time. You'll receive a confirmation email (it's not immediate, but it does come).

7.  After hitting the “Done” button, if you did not sign up for all four slots, the remaining slots will be open for others.

8.  If you are the initiator of the tee time and have added other players, those players are now “coupled” to you and tied to your reservation.  For a player to “decouple” themselves from the initiator, they need to first Cancel their name from the reservation before selecting any other tee time.  Do not just try to move yourself, you'll still be coupled to the initiator. 

9.  When signups have not yet been closed, members can return to the Open Tee Time Registration page to cancel their registration.

10.  Signups close at 6PM on the night two days prior to the OPC.  After that time, if you need to make any changes, please text either John Henninger (719) 237-1700 or Larry Walker (719) 661-2496.

Here's the results from today's Open Play.  Since it was just an OP, there were no competitions, no flighting, etc.  It was mainly to knock the rust off, which would appear that more rust needs knocking off.  Some tough pin placements and wind conditions.

Please remember to mark on the scorecard the tees you played from, and then double check that you are on the right tees with the Golf Genius app.

We will be posting the scores to GHIN this evening, so if you have any errors, please reply back.

Good to see so many of you back and that you made it through the winter.  Next week will be our first Competition, signups are still open.

Greetings and welcome to the signup for the Thursday, 26 March 2026 Open Play Competition (OPC) to be played on the Silver Course. This will be the first competition of the year, so if you compete in the OPC, $6 will be deducted from your EMGA account.

OPC:  Thursday, 26 March on the Silver Course (first tee time at 0830).

Signups start on Tuesday, 17 March at exactly 1900 hours (7PM).

Reminder, we are using the Golf Genius tee time system, Open Tee Time™ Registration, for making tee times for our OP and not the Eisenhower Club Prophet System (CPS).

Players in flight 1 is gross only (opt-in before playing the first hole) and play from white or longer tees.  Players in flight 2 and up can play from any of the teeing areas and can change from week to week.  Please ensure tee selection is entered prior to your start in Golf Genius app and also on the written paper score card.

We will be using the paper scorecard as primary with the Golf Genius app for entering scores to track in the leaderboards.  Also, sign, attest, and drop off the paper scorecard in the men's locker room in the EMGA box.  Only one person is required to keep the score on the mobile scoring app.  Please make sure that the scoring matches on both the paper scorecard and mobile app.

Hello EMGA Members, and welcome to the 2026 season. 

We’ll continue to use declared tees for tournaments in 2026.  A list of current members and their most recent declared tees for tournaments is below.  If you wish to remain on the same set of tournament tees, no action is required.  If you’d like to change tournament tees, please let me know by 1 May, prior to our first tournament on 7 May.  Once you’ve declared tournament tees for 2026, EMGA allows a member to change his declared tees for tournaments only once during the season.  

The longest tees you may declare for tournaments are the White tees.  We surveyed the single-digit HC players at the end of the 2025 season regarding the option to play longer tees for tournaments.  The results were 25% of the players would have preferred to have had the option to declare Blue, Green, or Green/White combo tees; 25% wanted to stay on Whites; and 50% were ok either way.  The Tournament Committee reviewed the results and opted to keep using the White tees as the longest tournament tees, both for pace-of-play and to facilitate a new format for Gross skins this year.   

For 2026, Gross skins will be by tee.  White tee players will compete for Gross skins among themselves, White/Gold combo players will compete as a group, and so on for Gold, Gold/Silver combo, and Silver tee players. 

Net skins competition will remain by White and Gold Divisions.  As a reminder, White tee and White/Gold tee players are in the White Division; and Gold tee, Gold/Silver tee, and Silver tee players are in the Gold Division.

The Kregel Championship has been moved to just before Labor Day instead of its previous spot in July.  The goal is to make this more of an end-of-season championship instead of having the competition in the middle of the season.  Also, the Kregel Championship flight will compete gross only, and participation in the Championship flight will be voluntary.  All other Kregel flights will compete net only.  

For Open Play (OP) and Open Play Competitions (OPCs), there is no requirement to declare tees, and you may change tees from week to week.  If you’re unsure which tees you’d like to declare for tournaments, please experiment with the different tee options prior to 1 May, and let me know your declared tournament tees by then.

This is your current EMGA balance as of today. Because we have not yet played an OPC or a tournament with optional skins, your balance simply reflects what you have paid in minus any season‑long tournament entry fees you elected to participate in. If you are tracking your own balance—and it’s strongly encouraged—these numbers should match.

When you play in an OPC ($6) or a tournament that offers optional skins ($5), those amounts will be deducted from your balance. Updated balances will be sent after each event so you can keep your records current. 

A balance shown in yellow means you have dropped below $20. A balance in red means you are under $5. If you plan to continue playing in OPCs or entering skins, you’ll need to add funds before the next event so your account can cover the expected costs.

If your account does not have enough funds, you may still play in the event itself, but you will not be eligible to compete in an OPC or tournament skins until your balance is replenished.

Additional funds can be added by dropping off a check in the EMGA box or mailing it to our treasurer:

If you have a NH in the handicap index column it means that you have not yet renewed your GHIN.  As a reminder, you must have an active GHIN number before you can compete in any of the EMGA events. Eisenhower is pretty good about activating your GHIN within a day or two.
