Team EMGA Comes from Behind to Secure Win

Your  EMGA H&A Team routed Perry Park CC on our home turf 19-5 to secure the overall Team win. Trailing 9 ½  pts to 14 ½ after our Away match at Perry Park CC, Team EMGA won 6 of the 8 two-man matches to complete the comeback.  Here are the overall Team results:

Leading the way at EGC was the team of Terry Bennett and Larry Arkfeld with a net 65 worth $80 in 1st place prize money. 

Our next event is Tuesday Jun 16th as we host Heritage Eagle Bend. We have a 12 ½ to 5 ½ pt lead after our play on their course.

Pueblo H&A 2nd Call

Hello everyone from your Home&Away Committee.

We are still looking for a few participants for our H&A match with Pueblo Country Club. This is an excellent traditional park-land style course that shouldn’t be missed.  The match begins there on Wednesday Jul 1 and returns to our Blue Course on Thursday Jul 9th.  Have chance to win $60 for a team win on each day (plus skins $)…better than you can do in our OPCs!!!  Plus 2 gourmet lunches, unlimited range balls, and golf cart included. What a deal.

Note that balances highlighted in red indicate insufficient funds to compete in OPCs or Optional Tournament Skins. Please add funds to your account if you wish to participate. Remember that OPCs costs $6 to compete and Optional Tournament Skins costs $5.

EMGA – 11 June OPC Results

Attached are the results from today's OPC on the Blue course.  We had 100 players, broken out into 1 Gross flight and 6 Net flights.  Total purse was $600.

 

Unfortunately, pace of play was less than desirable.  The first group played in 3 hours, 36 minutes (Hall of Fame worthy).  Next three groups played in 4 hours, 10 minutes or less (all good times).  Then it went to pot from 4 hours, 40 minutes to longer.  We've identified those players and they will not be able to start sooner than 1000 on the next OPC.  There was no reason for the delay, we have shown as a group that we can play in 4:15 or less and we all need to try better.

 

Blue Ringers has been updated.  Ike Cup leaderboards forthcoming.

 

The next event is the ABCD Variable Best Ball and signups are open.

2026 EMGA – ABCD Variable Best Ball Silver – 18 Jun: Round Signup

Sign-ups for the EMGA ABCD Variable Best Ball (VBB) tournament are now open.  The tournament is scheduled for Thurs, 18 Jun, on the Silver course, with an 0800 Shotgun start.

 

Sign-ups close on Tue, 16 Jun, at 1800.

 

To sign up:  

 

1.  Log into the EMGA Portal at egc-2026emga.golfgenius.com ,

2.  Under the tournament name on the left side of the page, click on “Sign Up”

3.  On the next page, click on the “I acknowledge . . . “ box

4.  Click on “Sign Up” on the bottom right  

 

Format:  Golf Genius will build 4-man ABCD teams based on Handicap Index.  Each golfer will play his own ball from tee until holed throughout the tournament.  The team score will include the three lowest net scores on the Par 3s, the two lowest net scores on the Par 4s, and the single lowest net score on the Par 5s.

 

Scoring:  Payouts to the top eight teams.  Ties will be retained.

 

Handicap (HC):  Players receive 90% of their course HC. 

 

Closest-to-the-Pin on Par 3s:  Included.

 

Skins:  Optional gross and net skins for $5 per player.  Gross skins will be by tee across the field.  White tee players will compete against all other White tee players for gross skins, with the same gross skin format for White-Gold tee players, Gold tee players, Gold-Silver tee players, and Silver tee players.  Net skins will be by Tee Division across the field.  White tee and White-Gold tee players will compete in the White Division.  Gold tee, Gold-Silver tee, and Silver tee players will compete in the Gold Division.  For net skins, players receive 100% of their Course Handicap.

 

For those that signed up for Silver Ringers and/or the Ike Cup, scores will count toward these season long events.

Home&Away Change of Venue

The Hollydot GC Home & Away match has been canceled due to lack of interest. I am happy to announce a match with Woodmoor CC has been added as a replacement. The Home match date for Woodmoor is the same as the Hollydot date (Thursday Aug 27th), with the Away date on Aug 24th (one day earlier). This match is now available for signup on the EMGA H&A Portal Page https://egc-2026emga.golfgenius.com . Sign in with your username and password, and select the H&As showing on the left-hand side of the opening page under Upcoming Rounds.  By selecting the Home date for that course, you’re signing up for both the Home and Away dates.

EMGA Golf Clinic with Mark KelBel

Mark Kelbel has graciously offered again to host Golf Clinics this year in July. for the EMGA.  The dates will be 1, 8, 22, 25, and 29 July.  This will be on Wednesdays from 3:00 – 4:00 PM.  Cost is $15 per lesson.   

 

It will be on a first come, first served basis for a maximum of 10 per session.  Signups can be sent to me at [email protected] or text my phone number 719 237-1700.

Kissing Camels Home&Away Roster

  The Kissing Camels Home & Away HOME Match will be played on Thursday June 25th  on the Blue Course, with the AWAY match played Monday June 29th. There were 21 players that signed up for this match and only 16 slots available. I ran a random number generator to determine which 16 players would be selected to play and the remaining 5 players are Alternates. If any of the selected players can’t play, the next “ranking” Alternate will be notified to take that spot.
