Sign-ups for the 2026 EMGA Vic Kregel Championship and the EMGA Appreciation Luncheon (Following Round 2) will open this Sunday, 23 Aug, at 1900. You’ll receive three email invites from Golf Genius on Sunday around 1900.
Three separate invites are necessary for Golf Genius to track who has signed up, who has declined, and who hasn’t responded either way for each event. Apologize for the extra emails.
YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR ROUND 1, ROUND 2, AND THE LUNCHEON SEPARATELY. If participating in all three events, you’ll need to complete three sign-ups.
To compete in the Kregel tournament itself, you must play in both Round 1 and Round 2. You can opt to play in Round 1 only, Round 2 only, attend the Luncheon only, or any combination of the three events. If you opt to play in a single round, you will not be competing in the Kregel tournament, but you can compete for optional skins during the round you do play.
Round 1 is scheduled for TUESDAY, 1 Sep, with an 0800 shotgun start on the Silver course.
Round 2 is scheduled for THURS, 3 Sep, with an 0800 shotgun start on the Blue course.
The EMGA Appreciation Luncheon follows Round 2.
Sign-ups for both Round 1 and Round 2, for those playing in both events, close on SUNDAY, 30 Aug, at 1800.
For those who are playing Round 2 only, and for those who are attending the luncheon, sign-ups close on Tue, 1 Sep, at 1800.
The key is you must sign-up separately for each event you attend.

The Kregel
The Kregel is our annual EMGA Championship tournament, and with the calendar move to just before Labor Day, it comes right after the PGA awards its FedEx Cup Champion. The Kregel is our highest paying tournament, with a budget of approximately $1.5K. Skins payouts are on top of this.
Format: 36-hole individual stroke play tournament held over 2 days.
Scoring: The Championship Flight will be voluntary and played from the White tees. Championship Flight payouts will be based on gross scores only, with no net score payouts. If you opt to play in the Championship Flight, pls let me know by sending a “Message to Manager” when signing-up, or send me an email.
Golfers not playing in the Championship Flight will be flighted by White Tee Division (White and White/Gold tee players), Gold Tee Division (Gold, Gold/Silver, and Silver tee players), and Handicap Index within each Division. All non-championship flights payouts will be based on net scores only, with no gross score payouts.
Ties are NOT retained for the Kregel If there is a tie after the second round for the gross score in the Championship flight, we’ll have a sudden death playoff starting on Blue course hole 18, then hole 10, continuing this rotation until there is a winner. Other ties will be broken by Countback (last 9, last 6, last 3, last holes).
Handicap (HC): Players receive 100% of their Course HC. Your handicap index will be updated after Round 1, and before Round 2, but you will remain in the same competitive flight over both rounds.
Closets-to-the-Pin on Par 3s: Included.
Skins: Optional skins are $5 per player, per round, which includes both gross and net skins. Gross skins will be scored by Tee across the field (All White tee players compete against all other White tee players regardless of what flight they are in; the same for Gold tee players, etc.). Net Skins will be scored by White Tee Division and Gold Tee Division.
The 2026 EMGA Champion will be recognized at the post tournament lunch. The Net winners of the other flights will also be recognized 12 days later at our Fall breakfast meeting and have their name placed on the plaque in the clubhouse grill area.
EMGA Appreciation Day
We have moved up our EMGA Appreciation Day this year from Oct to coincide with Round 2 of the Kregel and the celebration of our EMGA Champion.
As part of showing their appreciation, the Course’s staff is complementing our play in Round 2 with cart, range balls, and Hole in One costs. You must still pay your own green fees if not an Eisenhower Golf Club Annual Green Fee member.
Lunch will be a choice of the Catering Staff’s delicious beef or chicken Philly cheesesteaks. During lunch (must be present to win) the Course will be raffling off:
- 4 lessons with PGA instructors
- 10 golf cart rentals
- 10 range baskets
- $200 range key
Thanks,
Your Tournament Committee
