URGENT Request – Player Needed for the 27 June Home & Away Home Match with Red Rocks

Gentlemen,

We’re short a player for our upcoming HOME match with Red Rocks Country Club.  If you can play with our team, please let me know immediately and I’ll add you to the roster

This HOME match will be played at Eisenhower Golf Club on Thursday, 27 June.  Please wear your WHITE shirt. As usual, we will have bagels, pastries, coffee, and juices starting around 0730 and we will have a shotgun start at 0830 on the Blue Course.  The Practice Range will be available to those who wish to warm up.  You do not need to check in at the Pro Shop, unless you’re not an Annual Green Fee Member.  If you’re not an Annual Green Fee Member, you’ll need to pay your green fees. You are already included in the Hole-in-One, so you do not need to pay for and sign up for that.

Because we are playing our Home Match on the same day as the “regular” EMGA OPC round, the round you play that day against Red Rocks can also be counted towards the OPC match and qualify for a round in the Ike Cup and Blue Ringers Tournament, if you follow a couple of additional rules, outlined here.  If you want to count this round in the OPC and get credit for the Ike Cup and Blue Ringers, you need to pay your $5 (plus an optional $1 if you want to enter the gross skins) as you usually would if you were just playing in the OPC.  Either I or one of the OPC guys will be around to collect your $5/6 if you want to enter. I’ll also be collecting $5 (correct change always appreciated) for the Skins game.

As you know, in our H&A matches, both teams usually concede putts. During this match, even if your opponent concedes your putt, you must putt out to be eligible for “credit” in the OPC, Ike Cup and Blue Ringers.  The proper way to do this is to mark where your ball is and then after the hole is completed, go back and putt out completely.  Use some common sense when doing this. If your ball is very close, you may go ahead and tap it in if that doesn’t offer any advantage to your partner’s putting.  If you’re several feet away, mark your ball and wait until the hole is finished by everyone and then putt out as you should.  You and your partner for this match should keep a “regular” Eisenhower scorecard (I’ll put them on your cart that morning) with your OPC scores recorded in addition to the H&A scorecards. At the end of the match, you should drop this scorecard in the EMGA Scorecard box in the Men’s Locker Room.  Be sure and mark on the card that it is for the 27 June OPC and which tee you played from.
