Celebration of Life for Marlon Yankee

A Celebration of Life for Marlon Yankee will be held on Saturday, 21 September, from 1400 – 1600 at the Eisenhower Golf Clubhouse in the Blue and Silver rooms.

 

 

 

 

Col. Marlon Warren Yankee December 09, 1950 – August 23, 2024, Col. Marlon Warren Yankee (US Air Force Ret.) age 73 of Colorado Springs, Colorado formerly of Rogersville, passed away Friday (8/23/24) in Colorado with his family by his side.

 

He served in the United States Air Force from1974 until retirement in 2004. He retired as a Colonel at Peterson Air Force Base. He served at 10 military bases, including twice at the Pentagon during his military career. He served in Space and Missiles Operations and held positions of Commander and Vice Wing Commander at certain stations. He was honored with the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal and Achievement Medal. He was a Purple Heart recipient from injuries sustained at the August 31, 1981, terrorist bombing of his installation at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

 

He is preceded in death by his father; Arlon Yankee, mother; Norma Hunley Yankee, nephew; David Yankee, brother; Mark Yankee, sister-in-law; Christine Yankee, and niece; Monica Daniels. He is survived by his wife; Lois Parker Yankee, daughter; Michelle Yankee, son; Kent Yankee, granddaughter; Tessa Yankee Ogan, grandson-in-law; Josh Ogan and great grandson; Parker Ogan, granddaughter; Marley Yankee, and siblings; Merrill Yankee, Marsha Frazier (Bobby), Marlene Dobbs (Kenneth), Madonna Hartgrove (Miles), Myra Yankee, Marcella Cradic (Jimmy), Myron Yankee, and several nieces and nephews.
