Members,
As we talk about every year, the integrity and honesty of our players is first class. We had another member self-identify that the score he gave on a hole was lower than the number of strokes he actually took. Due to that and the Rules of Golf (Rule 3.3b(3)), that’s unfortunately a Disqualification (DQ). In this case, it was an honest error and no misintent. The player will not receive a stroke score for that round. However, for skins, which is a separate game, any hole other than the hole in question, if a player wins a skin then the skin will stand.
If this would have been an administrative error, an issue between the GG app and the paper scorecard, we would fix such errors and no penalty to a player. However, this was not the case. Please be sure to rectify the electronic score with the paper scorecard, and if any issues arise, please let the committee know.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.
